General information:
Obłuże is a northern suburb of Gdynia and one of the oldest fishing
settlements in the area. From the 7th century to the 11th century a
fortified castle was there. At present, from the population of 600
inhabitants, 70 are employed as a fishermen. There is a small fishing
boat base. Fishermen unload their craft by hand and fish is sold fresh
for human consumption. |
